Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a high-level meeting on Thursday to ensure law and order ahead of upcoming festivals including Eid, Sarhul, and Ram Navami. The meeting, held at the CM residence, was attended by senior administrative and police officials.
The Chief Minister directed that all festivals must be celebrated peacefully. He emphasized that police and administration remain on 24-hour alert and swift action should be taken against anyone disturbing law and order.
CM Soren said adequate police deployment should be ensured, and strict security should be in place around sensitive areas and religious sites. Special attention must be given to Shobha Yatra routes and crowded areas. Measures such as drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, videography, and emergency services like fire brigade and ambulances should be ready.
Officials were instructed to monitor social media continuously and take action against anyone spreading rumors or inciting unrest. Special arrangements for the safety of women and children must also be in place, and safe zones should be established along procession routes for emergency evacuation.
The Chief Minister also instructed that provocative or inflammatory songs should not be played during Shobha Yatras, flag lengths should comply with High Court orders, and public announcement systems remain functional. All districts must coordinate to ensure festivals are celebrated peacefully.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, ACS Vandana Dadel, DGP Tadasha Mishra, and other senior officials.
Additionally, the Jharkhand State Sentence Review Board approved the release of six prisoners after reviewing the cases of 15 life-term inmates. Plans were made to integrate released prisoners into government welfare schemes for proper rehabilitation.
