LPG e-KYC Deadline Today: Complete KYC Online in Just 5 Minutes

Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Cut; No Change in Domestic LPG Rates

India News : Today, August 31, is an important date for domestic LPG consumers. The deadline to complete LPG e-KYC ends today. Customers using Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas who have not completed the verification may face difficulty getting LPG cylinders at domestic rates until the process is completed.

Oil companies have already extended the deadline twice. The original deadline was August 16, which was first extended to August 23. The companies later provided another extension, giving customers until August 31 to complete the process.

In messages sent to customers, the companies said those who fail to complete the e-KYC process may become ineligible to receive LPG cylinders at domestic rates until their verification is completed.

What Happens If LPG e-KYC Is Not Completed?

Not completing LPG e-KYC does not mean that the customer’s LPG connection will be immediately cancelled. However, customers may face difficulty getting cylinders at domestic rates until the verification is completed and may potentially have to pay the applicable commercial rate.

This could directly affect the household budget. Customers who have already completed their e-KYC do not need to repeat the process.

Big Difference Between Domestic and Commercial Cylinder Prices

The current price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and Rs 957.50 in Chennai.

Meanwhile, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder is Rs 2,738 in Delhi, Rs 2,691.50 in Mumbai, Rs 2,872.50 in Kolkata and Rs 2,906 in Chennai. In some cities, the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder is also above Rs 3,000.

Therefore, losing eligibility for LPG at domestic rates could significantly increase the cost of cooking gas.

Which LPG Customers Need to Complete e-KYC?

Gas companies and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have already issued alerts regarding LPG e-KYC. The requirement applies to domestic LPG consumers using Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas.

Messages sent by the oil companies state that customers who have not completed the verification need to complete the e-KYC process. Those who have already completed it do not need to repeat the procedure.

How Can Indane Customers Complete e-KYC?

IndianOil customers can complete their LPG e-KYC from home through the IndianOil ONE App. They can also complete the process through their LPG distributor or delivery personnel.

Aadhaar authentication is used to verify the consumer. Customers need their Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number, the mobile number linked to their LPG connection, and their LPG consumer number or LPG ID.

Indane customers need to log in to the IndianOil ONE App using the mobile number linked to their LPG connection. They can then select the e-KYC or Aadhaar authentication option and link their LPG ID.

After giving consent for Aadhaar authentication, customers need to complete a face scan through the FaceRD app. Once the verification is submitted, they can check their e-KYC status.

Bharat Gas and HP Gas Users Can Also Complete e-KYC Online

Bharat Gas customers can complete their e-KYC through the company’s Hello BPCL App.

Similarly, HP Gas customers can use the company’s HP Pay App to complete their LPG e-KYC.

For domestic LPG consumers who have not completed the process yet, August 31 is therefore an important deadline.
