More News : This year, Mahashivratri is creating a rare cosmic alignment after 300 years, making it highly auspicious for devotees. The holy festival, marking Lord Shiva’s marriage, will bring prosperity and relief from all kinds of troubles.

According to Acharya Pandit Chetan Pandey, five rare Rajyogas will occur on this Mahashivratri. These include Budh-Shukra Lakshmi Narayan Rajyog, Budh-Surya Budhaditya Rajyog, and Surya-Shukra Shukraditya Yog. Additionally, in Aquarius (Kumbh) sign, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Rahu form the Panchgrahi Rajyog, while Shravana Nakshatra, Jai Yog, and Sarvarth Siddhi Yog make Shiva worship extremely significant.

The occurrence of all these auspicious yogas together is extremely rare. Devotees performing Lord Shiva’s puja during this time are expected to gain prosperity and freedom from difficulties.

This Mahashivratri falls on Sunday, 15th February 2026, and rituals can be performed from morning till night. Abhishek with water, milk, and other offerings in the morning is considered highly beneficial. Traditionally, Mahashivratri is celebrated as a night-long festival.

The Chaturdashi Tithi begins on 15th February at 4:24 PM and lasts until 16th February at 5:09 PM. This year, Bhadra occurs from 15th February 4:23 PM to 16th February 4:47 AM, which does not obstruct Shiva puja or Mahabhishek, and is considered extremely auspicious.

Acharya Chetan Pandey also mentioned that during this Mahashivratri, Uttarashada Nakshatra is active in the day, and Shravana Nakshatra during the night, which are highly favored by Lord Shiva. Therefore, worship and rituals on this rare occasion hold special spiritual significance.
