Naxal Encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur, Two Jawans Injured, Condition Stable

India News : Two DRG personnel were injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday. Both were airlifted to Raipur, where their condition is reported to be out of danger.

According to reports, on August 11, acting on information about Naxal presence in the Gangloor police station area, a police team was sent for a search operation. On Tuesday morning, as the jawans entered the forest, Naxals opened fire. The police immediately retaliated, and the gunfight lasted for about an hour before the Naxals fled, taking cover in dense forests and hilly terrain.

IG Sundarraj P confirmed the encounter and said that several Naxals are suspected to have been injured. Additional police teams have been dispatched to track down the attackers, and patrolling and search operations in the area have been intensified.
