India News : On the 17th day of the Parliament’s Monsoon Session, the opposition was seen in a different style. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, along with several INDIA Bloc MPs, was spotted at the Makar Gate wearing T-shirts with the name and photo of Minta Devi. The opposition has been continuously protesting over the FIR and alleged voter fraud case, demanding a discussion in the House.
According to the protesting opposition at the Makar Gate, Minta Devi is listed in the Bihar Election Commission’s voter list as a 124-year-old first-time voter. During the protest, MPs carried banners reading “Our Vote, Our Right, Our Fight,” while some held placards with slogans like “Stop Voter Fraud.”
It is noteworthy that due to the opposition’s uproar, the House proceedings have been continuously disrupted. Several important bills have not been discussed, and earlier this week, on the very first day, multiple bills were passed without debate. The opposition has objected, stating that passing bills without discussion is inappropriate.
On Monday, the Lok Sabha passed the National Sports Governance Bill, the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, and the Income Tax (No. 2) Bill without debate. On Tuesday, the opposition’s protest in white T-shirts attracted widespread attention.
