India News : Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), on the sidelines of the second WHO Global Summit. The meeting focused on key global health issues, with special emphasis on the growing importance of traditional medicine, holistic health systems, and preventive healthcare.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi described the interaction as meaningful and productive. He said the discussions explored ways to strengthen holistic healthcare systems and promote preventive health approaches through traditional medicine.
The Prime Minister highlighted that practices such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and other traditional systems of medicine are not only methods of treatment but also play a vital role in promoting a healthy lifestyle. He emphasized the need to integrate traditional medicine with modern science and develop it as an evidence-based healthcare practice.
PM Modi further stressed that scientific research and validated evidence are essential to ensure global acceptance of traditional medicine. He also underlined the importance of international cooperation and knowledge-sharing among countries to unlock the full potential of traditional healthcare systems for global well-being.
