Bihar News : A meeting on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was held on Saturday with MGNREGA workers at the Lalit Narayan Mishra Conference Hall on the premises of the Chhatapur Block-cum-Circle Office. Separate meetings were also held with fertilizer sellers at the Block Agriculture Conference Hall and with headmasters at Saraswati Vidya Niketan Adarsh Vidyalaya in Surpatganj.
All three meetings were chaired by BDO Dr. Rakesh Gupta. He briefed MGNREGA workers, fertilizer sellers and headmasters about the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in detail.
Appeal to Promote the Scheme
The BDO urged the concerned personnel to spread awareness about the scheme and help more people avail its benefits. He also appealed to them to bring beneficiaries to the block conference hall on Monday to facilitate the process.
Dr. Gupta said interested applicants can apply online by submitting essential documents, including an electricity bill, mobile number, bank account details and proof of ownership of the rooftop. Applications can also be submitted through the ‘Suvidha Bihar’ app available on the Play Store and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana mobile app.
Loans and Subsidy Available
The BDO said beneficiaries applying under the scheme will be eligible for loans through banks at an interest rate of 5.75 percent.
Under the scheme, a subsidy of Rs 40,000 will be provided for a 1-kilowatt solar plant, Rs 80,000 for a 2-kilowatt plant and up to Rs 98,000 for a solar plant with a capacity of 3 kilowatts or more. The subsidy will be provided by the Central and State governments.
893 Applications Received in Chhatapur
According to the BDO, a total of 893 applications have been received so far under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Chhatapur block. Of these, 770 applications have been approved, while 123 applications are proposed at the vendor level.
Solar plants have already been installed at 11 houses in the block.
