India News : A fresh development has emerged in the alleged irregularities related to donations and offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has reportedly declined to provide financial details sought by the district administration, citing an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe.
BJP Leader Raised the Issue with PMO
According to reports, local BJP leader Rajneesh Singh wrote to Narendra Modi, requesting that the Trust be directed to make public its financial records, including donations, expenditures, land transactions, bank accounts, and assets since its inception.
He also sought transparency regarding alleged irregularities in donations, offerings, and land purchases related to the Ram Temple.
PMO Referred Complaint to District Administration
After receiving the complaint, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) forwarded the matter to the Ayodhya district administration for appropriate action.
The district administration subsequently contacted the Ram Temple Trust seeking the information mentioned in the complaint.
According to sources, in a letter dated June 23, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Indrakant Dwivedi informed Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Vishu Raja that he had approached the Trust’s General Secretary, Champat Rai, for the requested information.
Trust Refuses to Share Details
Champat Rai reportedly declined to provide the financial records, stating that an SIT is currently investigating the matter and has already collected the relevant documents and records.
He said that since the investigation is underway, the requested information cannot be disclosed at this stage.
Information Sought in the Complaint
The complaint submitted to the PMO requested disclosure of:
- Funds collected through the Samarpan Nidhi campaign.
- Donations received through various channels.
- Offerings in the form of gold, silver, and jewellery.
- Bank accounts and financial transactions.
- Land purchase and sale records.
- Expenditure on temple construction and administration.
- Audit and inspection reports.
Investigation Continues
The SIT investigation into the matter is currently ongoing. The Trust has maintained that financial records and other related documents cannot be shared until the investigation is completed.
The issue has sparked fresh discussion over transparency and financial accountability concerning the administration of the Ram Temple Trust.
