India News : The controversy surrounding the Re-NEET medical entrance examination has intensified even after the declaration of results. The Indian National Congress has alleged serious irregularities in the examination process, while the National Testing Agency (NTA) has rejected the claims and warned of legal action against those submitting fake or AI-generated OMR answer sheets.
The Congress alleged that the original OMR sheet of a candidate, Avneesh Srivastava, was deliberately replaced with that of another candidate, Ajit Singh. Calling it a major examination scam, the party has demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Responding to the allegations, the NTA issued an official statement on social media, saying it is carefully examining every complaint received. According to the agency, several OMR sheets submitted for scrutiny were found to be forged or generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The agency urged candidates and parents to submit only original OMR answer sheets for verification. It warned that anyone found submitting fake or AI-generated documents could face legal action.
The Congress had earlier shared a video message from the father of an affected candidate on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, accusing the government and the NTA of serious lapses in the conduct of the examination.
The dispute remains unresolved, with the Congress maintaining its allegations of irregularities and the NTA insisting that complaints will be investigated based on authentic documents. The facts of the case are expected to become clearer after the official scrutiny and verification process is completed.
