India News : August is coming to an end, and several major changes are set to take effect across the country from September 1, 2026. The September 1 changes could affect household budgets, air travel, foreign travel and car buyers. Oil marketing companies may revise LPG and ATF prices, while Tata and Hyundai vehicles are set to become more expensive. The deadline for LPG e-KYC will also end on August 31, and changes are expected in immigration procedures for international travellers.
LPG Cylinder Prices to Be Revised
Oil marketing companies revise LPG cylinder prices on the first day of every month. New LPG prices are also expected to be announced on September 1, which could directly affect household budgets.
On August 1, companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial gas cylinders by Rs 202. However, the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remained unchanged.
LPG e-KYC Deadline Ends on August 31
Consumers using domestic LPG cylinders have until August 31 to complete the e-KYC process. IOCL, BPCL and HPCL had earlier extended the deadline for completing LPG e-KYC to August 31.
Failure to complete the process within the stipulated period could make domestic LPG more expensive from September 1 or create difficulties in getting a gas cylinder.
ATF, CNG and PNG Prices May Also Change
Oil marketing companies revise not only LPG prices but also the prices of aviation turbine fuel, or ATF, on the first day of every month. Any change in ATF prices in September could affect the cost of air travel.
Prices of CNG and PNG may also be revised during the month.
Tata and Hyundai Cars Set to Become Costlier
The beginning of September could also bring a price hike for car buyers. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd is set to increase the prices of all its cars and SUVs by up to Rs 25,000 from September 1, 2026.
According to the company, the price increase will apply to both ICE and electric vehicles. However, the hike will vary depending on the model and variant.
Apart from Tata, Hyundai Motor India has also announced its third price increase for cars this year.
Change in Immigration Rules for Foreign Travel
A major change related to international travel is also expected from September 1. According to reports, passengers travelling abroad from India may no longer need to get their boarding passes stamped at immigration counters.
Instead, travellers may complete the immigration process by showing an electronic boarding pass on their mobile phones or a printed copy. The change is expected to provide relief to international air passengers.
