India News : Police in Bareilly have busted a sex racket operating from a hotel and residential flat, arresting a call girl along with six men, including an accused linked to a previous shooting incident. The raid created panic in the area as officers detained the suspects late at night following a tip-off.
According to police officials, the illegal activity was being run from a flat located in Mahendranagar Colony under the Baradari police station limits. Authorities had been receiving information about prostitution being carried out at the location for a long time. Acting on the intelligence, a police team conducted a planned raid.
When the police reached the flat, the door was locked from inside. As soon as officers forced entry, chaos broke out inside the premises. Several men attempted to flee from different rooms, but police personnel stationed at the gate managed to arrest everyone.
During questioning, the call girl revealed that the racket was being operated using the bypass area as a contact point. She allegedly lured customers through gestures and then took them to the hotel rooms.
Police confirmed that one of the arrested men, Rohit Thakur, a resident of Bichpuri, was also involved in the Pilibhit Bypass firing case. Other arrested accused include Sonu, Basant, Abhay Vikram, Sudhanshu, and the woman involved in the racket.
A search of the hotel rooms led to the recovery of objectionable items, including medicines suspected to be used during the illegal activities. Police also seized six mobile phones, ₹4,100 in cash, and several incriminating materials from the flat.
Station House Officer Dhananjay Singh stated that all recovered items have been sealed and the accused have been produced before the court. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the racket has links to a larger network operating in the region.
