Offbeat News : Actress Shehnaaz Gill is in the spotlight for her upcoming Punjabi film Singh vs Kaur 2, in which she will be seen playing a Bengali woman for the first time. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on September 11.
Shehnaaz said speaking Bengali dialogues was the biggest challenge of preparing for the role, but the entire experience was interesting and memorable for her.
The actress said that since she is Punjabi, speaking dialogues in Bengali was a completely new experience. The film’s team arranged language teachers to help her prepare for the role.
Bengali Language Was the Biggest Challenge
According to Shehnaaz, she would memorise her dialogue lines in Punjabi, but had to deliver them in Bengali in front of the camera.
She admitted that the process was challenging, but said she enjoyed playing the character.
The actress also revealed that Kolkata has been presented beautifully in the film. Singh vs Kaur 2 will feature a mix of comedy, romance, action and emotions.
Shehnaaz said the film offers even more entertainment than what audiences have seen in the trailer.
Working With Gippy Grewal
Speaking about her experience of working with Gippy Grewal, Shehnaaz described him as a fun and caring person.
She said Gippy creates a comfortable atmosphere on the set and has good knowledge about many things. Shehnaaz also expressed her desire to work with him again in the future.
Singh vs Kaur 2 marks the first time Shehnaaz Gill and Gippy Grewal will be seen working together on screen.
Joining a Popular Franchise
Talking about becoming part of the popular Singh vs Kaur franchise, Shehnaaz said joining such a project naturally comes with challenges, as the character of Jasmeet Kaur in the first part was played by another actress.
However, she said she did not feel pressure because of comparisons with the previous portrayal. According to Shehnaaz, every actor brings a character to life in their own way, and she hopes audiences will appreciate her work as well.
Balancing Mumbai and Punjab
Speaking about balancing her life and career between Mumbai and Punjab, Shehnaaz said both places bring her different kinds of happiness.
She said Mumbai makes her feel proud of her hard work, while returning to Punjab gives her the comfort of coming back home.
Shehnaaz added that she was already a fan of Singh vs Kaur and had wanted to work in its second instalment.
The film has been directed by Navneet Singh and will see Shehnaaz Gill sharing the screen with Gippy Grewal for the first time.
