India News : In a major crackdown on allegations of disproportionate assets and irregular land transfers, the Karnataka Lokayukta on Wednesday morning conducted simultaneous raids across multiple districts of the state. The operation targeted several government officials in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ballari, and Koppal.

Bengaluru: Senior IAS Officer Vasanti Amar’s Residence Raided

A team of Lokayukta officials raided the residence of senior IAS officer Vasanti Amar in Bengaluru’s RT Nagar. She is accused of illegally transferring government land to private parties during her tenure as the Special Deputy Commissioner of the city. Key documents and property records are being examined.

Mysuru: Raids on Two Senior Officials

In Mysuru, the Lokayukta conducted raids at the residences of Venkatram, Sub-Divisional Officer of the Municipal Corporation, and Manjunathswamy, Joint Director of the Department of Skill Development. Both officials are alleged to have amassed assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

Ballari: Urban Planning Officer Under the Scanner

Maruti Bagali, Town and Rural Planning Officer based in Bengaluru, is under investigation for allegedly possessing multiple properties. Three locations linked to him in Ballari were raided as part of the operation.

Koppal: Industrial and Commerce Department Official’s Houses Searched

In Koppal, Sheku Chavhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, faced simultaneous raids at his residences in Abhishek Layout and Keerthi Colony. Officials are inspecting documents, valuables, and records related to property ownership.
