India News : Security forces are going all out to eliminate terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, making significant progress under Operation Okhal. Based on intelligence inputs, continuous actions are being taken against terrorists. In a major success, the forces have recovered weapons and other equipment from a terrorist hideout in Hafruda (Kupwara), and the hideout has been destroyed. Meanwhile, in Kishtwar, security personnel have been engaged in a fierce encounter with terrorists for several hours.
According to reports, the terrorist hideout was located in the Drud forest area of Hafruda. This area is often used by terrorists infiltrating from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir to enter deeper parts of the Valley. Based on specific intelligence, soldiers from the 2 Rajput unit launched a search operation early this morning in the Drud forest. During the operation, they discovered an underground terrorist hideout. From the location, an RPG, RPG grenades, an assault rifle, a pistol, and other supplies were recovered. It is believed that the terrorists may have fled the site upon sensing the presence of the security forces. Officials confirmed that the hideout was later demolished.
Meanwhile, in the Dul area of Kishtwar, an encounter broke out during an ongoing operation based on specific intelligence. The White Knight Corps shared the update on social media, stating that exchange of fire is underway, and the operation is ongoing. This new front follows the ongoing operations in Kulgam, where two brave soldiers — Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh — were martyred during an intense gunfight.
Operation Okhal has been active for the past nine days. Paying tribute to the fallen heroes, Chinar Corps posted on social media:
