Urban Heart Syndrome Rapidly Rising Among Youth

India News : Due to factors like work pressure, stress, lack of sleep, absence of physical activity, and excessive consumption of junk food, Urban Heart Syndrome is rapidly emerging among the youth. It is not a single disease, but rather a combination of several conditions that affect heart function. This syndrome primarily impacts people aged 30 to 40, whose hearts are no longer functioning with the strength they should.

Symptoms of Urban Heart Syndrome include shortness of breath, fatigue, chest heaviness, irregular heartbeat, and high blood pressure. Its main causes are chronic mental stress, long sedentary work hours, lack of exercise, smoking, junk food consumption, and sleep disorders. Additionally, frequent intake of caffeine or energy drinks and pollution can worsen the condition.

Those with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or chronic stress are at higher risk.

However, lifestyle changes can help prevent this syndrome. Engaging in at least 30 minutes of daily walking or yoga, getting sufficient sleep, consuming a balanced diet including fruits, green vegetables, and fiber, reducing stress, and undergoing regular health check-ups are crucial. While staying healthy in the fast-paced urban life is challenging, it is certainly not impossible.
