Jharkhand News : Jharkhand has completed 25 years of its journey as a state. On Thursday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the need for a strong, balanced, and multi-dimensional budget that can fully harness the state’s vast potential.
Addressing the Abua Dishom Budget Workshop, the Chief Minister said the budget should reflect public aspirations and accelerate development. He stated that the upcoming budget is estimated at around ₹1 lakh crore, and its size is expected to increase in the coming years.
He stressed the importance of enhancing revenue collection to ensure there are no financial gaps in implementing welfare and development schemes. For better budget preparation, public participation is crucial, and the government is actively seeking suggestions from citizens.
CM Soren shared insights from his recent trips to Davos and London, highlighting how international experiences will guide innovation and new approaches in Jharkhand’s development policies. The budget should meet the expectations and aspirations of the new generation.
Jharkhand is rich in water, forests, minerals, entrepreneurship, and human resources. The Chief Minister stated that these resources will be optimally used to strengthen education, health, tourism, agriculture, sports, and industries.
He further said that Jharkhand is naturally endowed, leading in lac and tasar silk production, and stressed the need for value addition of these resources for the state’s benefit.
Being a tribal-dominated state, Jharkhand’s traditions are being preserved and promoted through ongoing government initiatives.
Suggestions from the public and experts are being incorporated into the budget. Participants with the best ideas were awarded cash prizes and certificates.
The workshop saw the presence of Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh, State Finance Commission Chairman Amrendra Pratap Singh, and other national experts.
