Jharkhand News : In a significant step toward strengthening human resources and promoting industrial growth in Jharkhand, the Jindal Foundation has proposed a comprehensive partnership with the state government in the fields of education and skill development.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the proposal was presented as an Expression of Interest (EOI) before the high-level delegation led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren during his visit to London.
Under the proposed collaboration, the Jindal Foundation and the Jharkhand government will work together across multiple sectors aimed at enhancing education quality, research, innovation, and administrative capacity.
📌 Key Areas of Proposed Collaboration
🔹 Research in Public Policy and Climate Change
Keeping in view the challenges faced by eastern India, academic collaboration will be undertaken in public policy, law, and climate change. The initiative aims to provide inclusive and high-quality education to students from the region.
🔹 Establishment of Centres of Excellence
A state-of-the-art research centre will be set up in collaboration with premier institutions such as IIT-ISM Dhanbad, BIT Sindri, and other leading institutes. The centre will focus on research and innovation in the steel sector, mineral processing, and critical minerals.
🔹 Scholarships for Marginalised and Meritorious Students
A joint scholarship programme will be launched on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis between the state government and the Jindal Foundation. The scheme will support students from underprivileged backgrounds, especially girls, pursuing higher education in law, public policy, management, and sports.
🔹 Capacity Building of Administrative Officers
Around 30 administrative and police officers selected through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) will receive specialised training twice a year. The programme aims to align governance and service delivery systems with global best practices.
The Jindal Foundation stated that regions such as Ramgarh and Patratu are emerging as major steel hubs, leading to a growing demand for skilled manpower. The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to meeting this demand and improving Jharkhand’s Human Development Index (HDI).
