Ranchi: Ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali, the Jharkhand government has provided a festive gift to the women benefiting from the ‘Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana’. Under this scheme, the ‘samman rashi’ (honorarium/support amount) for October 2024 has been credited to the bank accounts of 394,007 women in the district. A total of Rs 98,50,17,500 has been transferred, with Rs 2,500 deposited into the account of each beneficiary.
The funds were disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This government initiative will provide financial relief to lakhs of women in the district just before Diwali. Women will be able to use these funds for household needs, festive shopping, and other family expenses. The objective of the scheme is to strengthen women financially and assist them in becoming self-reliant.
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri stated that the ‘Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana’ is a significant initiative aimed at fostering respect, self-esteem, and the economic empowerment of women. Transferring these funds into the accounts of women before Dhanteras and Diwali reflects the government’s commitment to ‘Nari Shakti’ (women’s power). This will help women meet their family’s needs and participate fully in the joy of the festive season. Through the ‘Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana’, the state government is striving to provide financial security to women and improve their standard of living.
