Jharkhand News : In a heartbreaking incident, a three-day-old infant died in Bandar Muta Toli of Chaingadha village under Budhmu block, Ranchi, after her parents were forced to carry her on foot to the hospital due to the absence of a road. The newborn’s parents, Manoj Munda and Babita Devi, were trekking the difficult terrain when the child breathed her last midway, as the delay in medical care proved fatal.
The tragedy has left the entire village in grief and anger. Electricity reached the hamlet in 2011, but even after 75 years of Independence, villagers are still waiting for a proper road. Repeated appeals to local MPs and MLAs have reportedly gone unheard.
Babita Devi broke down inconsolably as she held her lifeless baby, while her husband Manoj stood helpless. Villagers say the infant’s death is the direct result of administrative negligence and political apathy.
Gram Pradhan Vinod Pahan said, “If there had been a road, this baby could have survived. But our pleas are always ignored.”
The incident has once again placed the administration under severe scrutiny. Villagers have warned that unless a road is constructed soon, they will be compelled to launch an agitation. The heartbreaking loss has reignited the debate on why basic infrastructure like roads remains a distant dream for many rural parts of India.
