World News : US President Donald Trump has issued strong warnings to several countries following the military operation in Venezuela, indicating that military action in Colombia cannot be ruled out. The President also warned Mexico over drug trafficking and reiterated the strategic importance of Greenland for the United States.
According to a report by CNN, President Trump hinted that the US could take military action in Colombia if circumstances demand. He said Mexico must “do a better job” in controlling drug trafficking, which continues to impact the United States.
Trump also said the US is counting on American oil companies to help revive Venezuela’s collapsed oil industry. However, he acknowledged that the world’s largest oil reserves may appear attractive, but they pose significant financial and operational risks for US companies.
Venezuela Oil Revival Faces Major Challenges
The US President said rebuilding Venezuela’s oil infrastructure would require billions of dollars in investment. He pointed out that crude oil prices are currently not high enough to justify such massive spending, making large-scale investment difficult.
Trump further noted that Venezuela’s heavy crude oil is expensive to refine, adding to the challenges. Meanwhile, US officials have held discussions with major American oil companies regarding potential investments in Venezuela. According to sources, companies are reluctant to commit to fresh investments due to high costs, political uncertainty, and limited profitability.
Experts believe Trump’s remarks could increase geopolitical tensions in Latin America, particularly affecting US relations with Colombia and Mexico, while also influencing global energy markets.
