Jharkhand News : Rainfall continues across Jharkhand, with the weather department issuing a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Chatra, Ramgarh and Hazaribagh on Tuesday. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in several districts until August 21, while lightning is also possible at some places.
The department has warned that heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the red-alert districts could affect normal life. People have been advised to monitor weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
Orange Alert Issued for Three Districts
An orange alert has been issued for Palamu, Latehar and Garhwa, where heavy rainfall is also expected.
The weather department has also issued a yellow alert due to the possibility of strong winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph. Several areas may experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Dhalbhumgarh Records 90.8 mm Rainfall
During the past 24 hours, Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 90.8 mm.
The highest temperature during this period was recorded at 34.6°C in Bahragora, while the lowest temperature was 21.6°C in Latehar.
Rainfall in Ranchi After Cloudy Afternoon
On Monday, weather conditions in Ranchi and adjoining areas remained relatively clear in the morning, with occasional sunshine. However, dark clouds gathered in the afternoon, followed by moderate rainfall in several parts of the city.
According to the weather department, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 23.4°C on Monday.
Jamshedpur recorded a maximum of 33.8°C and a minimum of 26.2°C. Daltonganj recorded 33.6°C and 25.1°C, while Bokaro recorded 33.5°C and 26.1°C. Chaibasa recorded a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 24.2°C.
People Advised to Remain Alert
The weather department has urged people to remain cautious in view of the possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in the coming days.
People in districts under the red and orange alerts have particularly been advised to avoid unnecessary travel or going outdoors during periods of extremely heavy rainfall.
