Hyderabad : Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a massive public rally following a *padyatra* (foot march) in the city of Hyderabad. During his address, he launched a sharp attack on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi regarding allegations of vote theft and irregularities in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Refuting the claims made during the opposition’s ‘Ramlila’ rally, Shah questioned how the Congress party managed to form governments in Telangana, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu if the voting machines had indeed been manipulated.
He challenged the opposition to discuss all contentious issues—including the revision of electoral rolls, EVMs, and the presence of infiltrators—during a special session of Parliament, rather than obstructing legislative proceedings. Furthermore, Shah dismissed claims that the names of 130 million (13 crore) voters had been removed from the electoral rolls; he clarified that over 60 million (6 crore) voters had relocated, and approximately 30 million (3 crore) were deceased—removals that were necessary to prevent fraudulent voting.
Emphasizing parliamentary accountability, he stated that the nation’s voters have categorically rejected the baseless allegations leveled by the Congress.
On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a ‘Maha Padyatra’ in Hyderabad as part of a nationwide BJP campaign aimed at countering the opposition ‘INDIA’ alliance. He commenced the march from the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram in Bashirbagh, located in the heart of the city, accompanied by several party leaders and thousands of workers.
Carrying the national flag, Amit Shah was joined in the *padyatra* by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP President N. Ramchandra Rao, as well as various party MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and other leaders. The 1.5-kilometer-long march, held under the slogan “Save Democracy, End Anarchy,” concluded at Mozzam Jahi Market, where Amit Shah addressed a public gathering.
