Jharkhand News : Jharkhand continues to reel under an intense cold wave, with minimum temperatures staying below normal in most districts. Only Pakur and East Singhbhum are reported to be closer to normal levels, while large parts of the state are experiencing sharp morning chill and strong cold winds, disrupting daily life.
On Thursday, Gumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 0.8°C. Ranchi also saw a slight improvement, with the city minimum at 9.0°C, while Kanke recorded 4.7°C. Several districts—including Gumla, Bokaro, Palamu, Chaibasa, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Simdega, Seraikela, West Singhbhum and Lohardaga—remained under cold-wave conditions.
The weather department has forecast that minimum temperatures may rise by 2–4°C over the next five days, though pockets of cold wave may continue in some districts. Meanwhile, residents are getting partial relief from morning fog in many areas.
Meteorologists also noted a shift in wind patterns: westerly winds are strengthening, replacing northerly winds, which could reduce the biting chill over the next 2–3 days.
