Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is once again in the spotlight for conducting a surprise inspection in the state capital. Without prior notice, the Chief Minister took to the streets of Ranchi to assess traffic management and understand the challenges faced by the public. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed the visit, stating that he personally inspected ground realities to gain a firsthand understanding of public grievances and administrative functioning.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, the CMO said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been regularly carrying out field inspections to closely monitor public issues and governance. Similar surprise visits were conducted in December 2025 and April 2026 to evaluate administrative arrangements across different parts of the city.
According to the CMO, on Sunday evening the Chief Minister left his residence on Kanke Road without any prior schedule and set out to review the situation in the capital. During the inspection, he reached Kantatoli Chowk, one of Ranchi’s busiest traffic intersections, where he reviewed traffic operations and expressed displeasure over congestion and illegal roadside parking.
The Chief Minister instructed traffic police officials present at the site to take immediate steps to improve the situation. He noted that illegal parking and poor traffic management cause unnecessary inconvenience to commuters and directed authorities to strengthen traffic regulation measures and take strict action against encroachments on roads.
News of the Chief Minister’s unexpected visit triggered activity across administrative and police departments. Senior officials were promptly informed, and traffic personnel were directed to remain alert. However, being a Sunday, traffic volume on the roads was comparatively lower than on regular working days.
The impact of the inspection was visible the very next day, as Ranchi Police intensified efforts to streamline traffic management. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Ranjan, accompanied by Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Rakesh Singh, conducted inspections in several key areas of the city. The officers reviewed traffic flow, parking arrangements, and encroachment issues from Albert Ekka Chowk to Anjuman Plaza.
During the drive, action was taken against motorists illegally parking vehicles along roadsides, shopkeepers encroaching on footpaths and public roads, and other unauthorized activities. Authorities also acted against vehicles parked on pedestrian pathways and instructed parking stand operators to ensure orderly parking of vehicles.
The SSP further directed traffic officials and personnel deployed at various traffic posts to improve traffic management and prioritize public convenience. Local police officers, station house officers, and other administrative officials were also present during the inspection.
