Jharkhand News : In a significant step toward the infrastructural development of tribal-dominated regions in Jharkhand, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has positively acknowledged a road project proposal submitted by Shri Bindeshwar Oraon, State General Secretary of BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha and noted educationist.
Visva-Bharati University campus to reopen for tourists after five years, Heritage Walks begin from August 3
The proposal, submitted via official correspondence, highlights the strategic importance of a road connecting Khunti, Karra, Bedo, Chatti, Bhandra, Lohardaga, Peshrar, and Latehar to Palamu. According to the NHAI’s Project Implementation Unit in Gumla, through a letter (Ref: NHAI/PIU-Gumla/2025/PG Portal/2494) issued on July 22, the proposed route has the potential to significantly improve connectivity, public access to emergency services, and local socio-economic development.
Key benefits of the proposed road project include:
-
It will serve as a crucial connector between NH-143AG and NH-39, integrating isolated tribal regions into the state’s core infrastructure.
-
The route can serve as an alternative to the Ranchi Outer Ring Road and Ranchi-Varanasi Corridor.
-
It will enhance access to key tourist destinations such as Amreshwar Dham, Sai Mandir Bedo, Latratu Dam, and Netarhat.
Speaking on the development, Shri Bindeshwar Oraon said,
“This is not just a road—it is a lifeline for our villages, a bridge to the dreams of our youth, and a pathway to a prosperous future. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and the NHAI for acknowledging the genuine needs of our region.”
He emphasized that the new route would also aid in swift disaster relief efforts and reduce the region’s migration challenges by opening up new employment opportunities.
Public Participation Requested:
Shri Oraon urged the local community to support the project through land contribution, cooperation, and awareness. “This is our project, and its success will shape the future of our children,” he added.
