Jharkhand News : Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 262 newly selected candidates during a ceremony held at the Jharkhand Secretariat. Congratulating the appointees, he urged them to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity, and sensitivity toward the people they serve.
The newly appointed candidates include 56 Food Safety Officers selected through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), 151 Specialist Medical Officers appointed on a contractual basis under the National Health Mission (NHM), 29 Senior Hospital Managers, and 26 Finance Managers.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to connecting every citizen with the mainstream of development. He emphasized that adequate and capable human resources are essential for the overall development of the state and noted that the government is carrying out large-scale recruitment drives across various departments to strengthen public service delivery.
Soren called upon the newly appointed officials to place public service above all else and contribute actively to Jharkhand’s progress. He stated that a government position is not merely a source of employment but also an opportunity to fulfill responsibilities toward society and the state.
Government Focused on Strengthening Healthcare Services
The Chief Minister said the government is continuously working to strengthen the healthcare sector in Jharkhand. He stressed that improving health services requires skilled and specialized manpower and assured that more large-scale recruitments would be undertaken in the future to meet growing needs.
He described a strong healthcare system as the foundation of a developed state and said the government is focused on expanding health institutions, developing modern medical facilities, and ensuring the availability of specialist doctors. Providing citizens with timely, accessible, and quality healthcare remains one of the government’s top priorities, he added.
Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic
Soren noted that the healthcare sector constantly faces new challenges, including shortages of specialists, infrastructure constraints, and ensuring timely treatment in both rural and urban areas.
He said the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthcare system that is prepared for any emergency. The unprecedented situation during the pandemic required swift decision-making, effective coordination, and innovative solutions to safeguard public health.
Call to Embrace Modern Technology
The Chief Minister urged the newly appointed officers to adopt modern technologies and innovative practices to improve healthcare delivery. He emphasized that future challenges can be addressed more effectively through advanced management systems and rapid response mechanisms.
He reiterated that the government is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, expanding human resources, and enhancing medical facilities so that people across Jharkhand can access affordable, timely, and quality healthcare services.
The ceremony was attended by Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Neha Arora, National Health Mission Mission Director Shashi Prakash Jha, senior government officials, and a large number of newly appointed candidates.
