Jharkhand News : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall across several districts of Jharkhand starting Friday, July 25, and continuing for three consecutive days. The alert warns of very heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds between 30 to 40 km/h across most regions, excluding some parts of northwestern Jharkhand.

On Saturday, July 26, heavy rain is expected in southern and central districts, while parts of northwestern Jharkhand may also experience significant rainfall. On Sunday, July 27, the IMD predicts heavy rain over southwestern districts and intermittent rainfall across central and western parts of the state. Gusty winds are also likely to continue during this period.
In the past 24 hours, Ichak in Hazaribagh district received the highest rainfall at 44 millimeters, while several areas in Ranchi also reported substantial rain. The weather remained cloudy throughout Thursday in Ranchi and surrounding regions.
Temperature readings on Thursday were moderate despite the rainy conditions. Maximum temperatures recorded included Ranchi at 31.8°C, Jamshedpur at 35.6°C, Daltonganj at 34.6°C, Bokaro at 31.1°C, and Chaibasa at 36.4°C.
The IMD has issued an orange alert specifically for July 26 in Ranchi, Khunti, Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Simdega, and Gumla districts, warning of intense rainfall, possible lightning, and strong wind conditions.
In response, district administrations have been placed on high alert, and emergency services have been instructed to remain fully prepared. Officials have urged residents, especially those living in flood-prone or low-lying areas, to take precautions and avoid venturing near rivers or water bodies during the alert period.
Authorities have also advised citizens to stay updated with local forecasts and follow all safety advisories during this period of adverse weather.
