Jharkhand News : A team of talented karatekas from Jharkhand has departed for Lucknow to participate in the 2nd World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation All India Karate Championship, scheduled to be held on July 19 and 20 at the Chowk Stadium, Lucknow.

A total of nine players will represent Jharkhand in this prestigious national-level event. The players selected for the championship are: Radhika Kumari, Vaishnavi Kumari, Sampoorna Vaibhav, Nitesh Kumar, Nandini Kumari, Lavanya Raj, Jaygovind Singh, Vineet Kumar Yadav, and Sanskriti Vardhan.
The team departed on Thursday from Hatia Railway Station, with their coach and Team Manager Prakash Ravidas accompanying them for logistical and training support throughout the championship.
A small farewell ceremony was organized before their departure where Association President Naveen Sahu boosted the morale of the young athletes by wishing them great success. He encouraged the team to stay focused and bring pride to the state by returning with medals. “You are not just competing, but also representing the spirit and talent of Jharkhand. We are proud of you,” he said.
Also present during the send-off were joint secretary Dewanand Seth, several parents of the players, and other senior officials from the organizing committee. They extended their best wishes and highlighted the importance of participation, discipline, and team spirit.
This championship presents a golden opportunity for the young players of Jharkhand to showcase their skills at a national level and gain crucial experience that could shape their future in martial arts. The state has produced several accomplished karatekas in the past, and expectations remain high from this team as well.
With top contenders from across the country participating, the event promises intense competition. However, the Jharkhand team appears confident and well-prepared to take on the challenge.
