World News : A major twist has emerged in the murder case of prominent Bangladeshi youth leader Usman Hadi, exposing false claims made by Bangladeshi authorities. The prime accused in the case, Faisal Karim Masud, has released a video statement denying reports that he fled to India, asserting instead that he is currently in Dubai.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Faisal Karim Masud said he had no involvement in Usman Hadi’s killing and alleged that he and his family were being falsely implicated as part of a political conspiracy. “I did not murder Hadi. I came to Dubai to save my life,” he said, adding that Hadi was associated with Jamaat-linked groups and suggesting that elements from within his own organization may have been responsible for the attack.
Faisal further claimed that he is the owner of an IT company and knew Usman Hadi only through professional dealings. He admitted to donating political funds in return for assurances of government contracts, but insisted that this had no connection with any criminal activity.
Murder During Election Campaign
The incident dates back to December 12, when Usman Hadi was shot in the head during election campaigning in Dhaka. He was critically injured and later airlifted to Singapore for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 18. Hadi was the spokesperson of the Inquilab Manch and played a key role in the July–August 2024 mass movement that led to the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was also a parliamentary candidate in the upcoming February 12 elections.
False Border Infiltration Allegations
Following the murder, senior Dhaka Metropolitan Police officer S.N. Nazrul Islam had publicly claimed that Faisal Karim Masud and another accused had fled to India via the Haluaghat border and received assistance in Meghalaya.
However, these allegations were immediately rejected by India’s Border Security Force, with Meghalaya IG O.P. Upadhyay categorically denying any such infiltration.
Now, Faisal’s video statement and official documents have further confirmed that he holds a five-year multi-entry UAE visa issued in December 2022 and legally traveled to Dubai. This revelation has seriously undermined the credibility of Bangladesh’s earlier claims and raised questions over attempts to drag India into the case.
