Jharkhand News : The official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the ruling party in Jharkhand, has reportedly been hacked by unknown miscreants. The matter came to light after Chief Minister Hemant Soren posted from his personal X handle, informing the public about the security breach.

In his post on Sunday, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the cyber intrusion and stated that anti-social elements had gained unauthorized access to the party’s official social media account. “The official X handle of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has been hacked. I have directed Jharkhand Police to investigate the incident and take swift action,” the CM posted.
Following his instructions, the cybercrime branch of Jharkhand Police has launched a full-fledged investigation. Officials are currently working to determine the extent of the breach and whether any unauthorized activity or content manipulation occurred after the hacking.
Police sources said the priority is to secure the account, identify the perpetrators, and assess whether the hack was the work of individual cybercriminals or part of a larger conspiracy. Investigators are also checking whether any sensitive party-related data was compromised or used to mislead the public.
The hacking incident has raised questions about the digital security protocols of political entities, especially those in power. Political analysts believe this could be a targeted move to malign the party’s image ahead of upcoming political events or elections.
The cybercrime team is also coordinating with X (formerly Twitter) to retrieve access and analyze account logs. If needed, assistance from national cyber agencies may be requested.
This incident has put JMM and other political outfits on high alert regarding their social media presence and cyber hygiene. Experts suggest enhanced security measures, including two-factor authentication and regular monitoring, for all official digital platforms.
Meanwhile, the JMM has issued a temporary communication advisory, urging party members and supporters not to share or engage with any posts from the compromised account until it is officially restored.
The situation remains under close watch as the state’s cyber team races against time to uncover the digital trail left behind by the hackers.
